TOOTH WHITENING

Veneers are an important tool for the cosmetic dentist. A dentist may use one veneer to restore a single tooth that may have been fractured or discolored, or multiple teeth to create a “Hollywood” type of makeover. Many people have small teeth resulting in spaces that may not be easily closed by orthodontics. Some people have worn away the edges of their teeth resulting in a prematurely aged appearance, while others may have malpositioned teeth that appear crooked.

Multiple veneers can close these spaces, lengthen teeth that have been shortened by wear, fill the black triangles between teeth caused by gum rece

The first thing people notice about you is your smile. A beautiful, white smile can do more to enhance your appearance than nearly anything else.

We offer an easy and convenient way of achieving a brighter smile. Home teeth whitening kits provide safe and effective way to lighten your teeth at home.

This type of tooth whitening initially requires two visits.  At the first appointment, impressions will be made of your teeth to construct custom-made trays. At the second appointment, the hygienist will make sure that trays fit perfectly and adjustments will be made if necessary. You will also have your teeth scaled and polished to maximise the results of whitening. You will be provided with trays and whitening gel and given instructions on their use.

The trays should be worn during the day for 2 hours or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the desired level of whitening.  It is normal to experience some tooth sensitivity during the time of whitening, but it will subside shortly after you have stopped whitening.

You will receive care instructions for your teeth and trays, and will be encouraged to visit your dentist regularly to help maintain a healthy, bright smile.

Teeth whitening is not a permanent solution for a white smile and needs to be repeated every so often to ensure that your teeth stay as white as possible. Your dietary habits like, tea, coffee and red wine drinking, and personal habits, like smoking, can affect the longevity of whitening treatment effects. In this case you will be able to repeat the treatment at your convenience by simply purchasing additional whitening solution at our practice.
